Casa Haartman was the home and studio of artist Axel Haartman (1877-1969) and his wife Hedvig (1874-1967). The artist’s home was designed by Turku architect Erik Bryggman for Axel and Hedvig Haartman. Axel Haartman was a highly versatile artist and cultural figure. The home has been preserved with the Haartmans’ original furnishings and is adorned with works by Axel Haartman, as well as by other artists, including Fanny Churberg, Victor Westerholm, and Wäinö Aaltonen.
Free admission for students in September also applies to the other museums of the Åbo Akademi University Foundation: The museum Ett Hem (Piispankatu 14, Turku) and the Sibelius Museum (Piispankatu 17, Turku).
A warm welcome!
